You all know me well enough by now to know that I have a reputation for being a bit whimsical. We have a nine foot giraffe wearing a red leather mardi gras mask in our family room, a large colorful purple and orange beetle climbing up the wall in our masterbath, and our front door...well, people either love it, or they don't. (see below)
A friend of ours probably said it best when he described our home as "playful." I'm still trying to decide if he intended that as a compliment or if he just didn't know what else to say.
So I was working with my illustrations, preparing prints to go out in the mail, when I decided to look at what was up on the Etsy Showcase today. I believe in the handmade pledge and I also believe that it's important to share the wonderful creations of others with you when I find something new that I think you might enjoy. And look what I found! Oh my!!!
My first thought was how gorgeous this would have been for Einstein and how I wish that he could have had a bed like this. But I quickly remembered that Einstein always began his night in bed with us and ended up with a large kingsized pillow and comforter on the floor. This is intended for dainty little pooches. But, oh, how lovely it is! And so it brings to mind my sister Ann, and her lovely pooches, Charley and Tobey. This would be PERFECT for them. (Ann, when you read this, I think this is what Charley and Tobey need for Christmas) :-) Charley, Tobey, your Auntie Cookie thinks that Mama needs to get you each a lovely little Jakey BB handpainted bed with a comfy, cozy pillow so that you can lounge around in luxury by the pool.
I hope all of you will take a little trip over to Etsy and look at all of the beds that Jakey BB has listed. These treasures are HANDPAINTED! They are pricey, but as an artist who has been painting furniture for over thirty years I can tell you that they are not over priced. You're looking at a lot of detail, a lot of time and a lot of talent. These look very labor intensive to me.
So, I'm plugging Jakey BB today. I don't know these people. I've never met them. All I know is that I think these little beds are precious.
Here is a photo of Charley, Tobey and a special friend visiting at their house in Florida. Don't you think they would look darling in these beds!
